It's all lies and deceit

I guess this needs some explaining because yes, that is Visser Three and no, of course that's not his kid. Duh. He's a Yeerk, he'd make a horrible parent. He's no father material lol, and certainly not when it concerns other Andalites.

The kid's name is Issdari-Miskelser-Essez, I'm jumping on the OC bandwagon (it's not really a bandwagon but whatever), for RP and art purposes. This is just his kiddy/fawn-version cuz I wanted to draw this scene, he's really around Ax's age I think. I'm not entirely sure yet.

Because Visser Three/Esplin is one of my favorite characters I wanted to have him involved somehow. My first idea was to make Issdari some kind of nephew to Alloran or something and go with the revenge theme but then I thought that that is not really original (at least not to me) and I'm not really into making OCs family of canon characters. It's not my thing.

And then I realized I hadn't seen any Andalite OCs who were actually on Visser Three's side! They might be out there but I haven't checked out a lot of OCs that are already exist so I don't know for sure, but even if there are I doubt there are a lot of them.

The most important thing to me is to keep Esplin in character as much as possible so I waited until I finished reading all the books so I could get a good understanding of the character and his life story.
We all know that he's obsessed with Andalites and that he despises every single one of them, that he's selfish and that he's very good at lying and manipulating others for his own personal gain.

With that in mind I did come up with a (hopefully) plausible back story for Issdari to make this particular scene and everything else work out without people going "huh?". I'm still working out the details and the kinks so it'll be included when I actually finish Issdari's reference sheet.

About the pic itself, I can't draw kids and I'm not particularly happy with it here but it serves it's purpose. I actually had a whole background included, with banners and stuff and the silhouettes of Hork-bajir and Taxxons with glowy red eyes everywhere but when I finished it it just looked ugly! So I was all "Delete! Add gradient! Le perfect!" Sometimes simple is better.

Aaaand that's about it for now. I think I'll register myself on the Animorphs forums where they have the ebooks tonight, so I can do some more hopeless fangirl geeking there. Real life? What's that? Never heard of it!
